This summer I won the Sun Catcher Camp Kit from Discount School Supplies. It arrived just in time for my fabulous first graders to create their very own sun catcher.
The kit comes with:
- 12 Butterfly Sun Catchers
- 12 Dinosaur Sun Catchers
- 12 Flower Garden Sun Catchers
- 78 Assorted Favorites Sun Catchers
- 10 Bottles Colorations Sun Catcher Paint – 4 oz.
- 6 Paint Cups in Base – 12 Sets
- 300 Craft Brushes
- 40 Paint Pens
Decorating was easy! After each child chose a sun catcher to decorate they took one paint pen and filled up the sun catcher with color. (Painting tip: fill the area up to the rim of the sun catcher…when it dries it will flatten down and give a solid color.) If they wanted a new color, I told them to swap with a class mate. Some students really got into it and became very detailed, others just made the sun catcher one color. Either way they turned out fantastic. I had the kids leave the sun catchers on their desk over night. By morning most of the sun catchers had dried completely. Students put their sun catcher into their cubby and took it home that day.
