Don’t miss your chance to take the family to
The Greatest Show on Earth!!!!!!
This is truly the best family event ever! Kids and adults alike will enjoy the death-defying stunts, acrobatics, and animals. Your ticket includes access to the Animal Open House & Pre-Show. We went to the 3:00 show yesterday.
Animal Open House:
We arrived at 1:30 to visit the animals. The kids were amazed at seeing the elephants (see photo above), tigers (photo below), and horses up close. Kira liked the tigers the best!
The Asian elephant is a species unlike any other – the second largest land mammal in the world and one of the most intelligent animals on earth. Unfortunately, with less than 35,000 Asian elephants left on the planet, it is also one of the world’s most endangered species. As the steward of the largest sustainable elephant population in the Western Hemisphere, Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey® takes its responsibility to educate the public about these magnificent animals seriously.
It was HOT… but the circus caretakers were making sure the animals were cooled off. It was fun watching the tiger get wet! The trainer was hosing them down and the “big cats” were trying to drink the water while playing and getting wet.
The Big Cats:
Tigers are known as “big cats.” They are members of the feline family, a category that includes 36 species of mammals ranging from the lion, leopard and jaguar to the common house cat.
The big cats showcased at Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey® have a relationship with their trainers based on mutual trust and respect. However, our trainers never forget that these animals are incredibly strong and fierce. For this reason, the big cats always perform behind a barrier.
The doors opened an hour before the show so the audience could walk onto the stage and meet some of the clowns, dancers, acrobats, gymnasts, and animals.
The pre-show was fun for all. The kids each received a clown nose…which Logan was more than happy to show off for the camera. They also had the opportunity to get a tattoo, dress up in the clown costumes, walk the tight-rope, and watch the circus performers and animals up-close. This was an wonderful bonus to our circus experience.
Breath-taking, amazing, and always a pleasure to watch with kids.
The Ringmaster, Brian Crawford Scott (2010-Present — He is 36th ringmaster), joined The Greatest Show On Earth® as the newest Ringmaster performing in Fully ChargedSM, the 141st Edition of Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey®.
The circus show came to life with a song…the Ringmaster along with the entire cast enticed the audience with music, dancing, and tricks. There was always something amazing to watch and so much to see I can’t tell you everything…but I can highlight some of our favorite moments.
Kira’s favorite part of the circus were the “big cats.” She enjoyed watching them roll over, stand on their hind legs, and hop up and down off their seats. I was holding my breath every time the trainer walked near the tigers. He was amazing! He had confidence, control, and a wonderful rapport with the animals.
Logan’s favorite part was the human cannonball! (Of course…my little pirate’s ears perked up when he heard cannonball.) Flying 40 feet in the air, this young lady is the YOUNGEST to attempt this dare-devil flying feat! I did video tape this so Logan can watch her fly across the arena over and over again!
We all were amazed with the flying acrobats…from the tight wire to the trampoline to the floor show. AMAZING! What they can do… we couldn’t keep our eyes off of their flips!
There is just so much to see and share… I wish I could write more, but you will have to visit the circus to see how amazing it is for yourself!
