With summer in full swing… I couldn’t wait to try Rave Review! Original Culinary Spirits in a new dish. I’ve been known to throw in some wine here and there to spice up my recipes, but I have never tried hard alcohol. It was time for a change. I received a bottle of the Rave Review! Original Culinary Blended Bourbon.
Rave Review! Original Culinary Blended Bourbon has a slight smokiness and smooth vanilla finish. You can use it in many different ways…but what I decided to create my own recipe (inspired by the Buffalo Bourbon Chicken Wing recipe I found on their blog). Check it out:
Boneless Buffalo Bourbon Chicken
1/4 cup Rave Review! Original Culinary Blended Bourbon
1/4 cup Frank’s Red Hot Wings Buffalo Sauce
1/3 cup brown sugar (packed)
1 tsp ready to use chopped garlic (you can use fresh)
2 TBSP melted butter
3 boneless, skinless breast of chicken
Step 3: Lay evenly in a 9×13 glass baking pan.
Step 4: Pour the mix over the chicken and set in the fridge for at least one hour to marinate.
Step 6: Bake chicken for 20-25 minutes.
Step 7: Serve hot… I boiled 4 small red potatoes and mashed them with garlic and milk for a delicious side dish.
My husband and I really enjoyed our new recipe. It was sweet, spicy and savory. The bourbon flavor was there, but didn’t overwhelm the dish. We will definitely make this dish again!

We also conducted the Rave Review! Original Culinary Spirits Challenge to see how it compared to traditional peer spirit. Let me just say that my husband and I are not hard alcohol drinkers…so we did our best. We poured 1 oz of each spirit into a glass. You could see a difference in color. The Rave Review! Original Culinary Blended Bourbon was slightly darker. It also had a smoother scent and was easier to sip. Then we heated both spirits to see what happened when the alcohol was warmed up. Like I said before, we are not hard alcohol drinkers…but we did notice that the Rave Review! seemed to keep the same scent and taste, where the traditional spirit seemed to lack something. I definitely would rather cook with bourbon than drink it. But if I had to choose between Rave Review! and traditional, I would choose Rave Review!
