Nutrisystem offers a wide variety of meals. Finding your favorites is key. I like quite a few of the meals, but here are some of my favorites…
Breakfast is one of the most important meals of the day… but so often it is forgotten. Nutrisystem has some amazing breakfasts: from bars to muffins, omelets to sausage muffins, oatmeal to one of my favorites –> granola! I love the crunch of the granola mixed with my lowfat yogurt topped with blueberries (yes, I used frozen blueberries and it still was delicious).
As at teacher I love having meals that I can just grab and go out the door. I have been pairing my Nutrisystem lunches with a nice salad or fresh vegetables (green beans and broccoli are my favorites).
I do love the bars because they are easy (no microwave needed…and perfect for car rides), but the melts are by far my favorite. All of the melts take less than 2 minutes to heat up in the microwave. I just grab my melt before walking my students to the multipurpose room. Once I have dropped them off I sneak into the teacher’s lounge and heat up my meal. Then off to my classroom I go!
Lately I have been trying to mimic my meals for my family. Sometimes it’s easy, but not always. One of my favorite meals is easy to recreate for my family — Chicken Alfredo with broccoli. I found that mixing the broccoli into the Chicken Alfredo bumped my meal up a notch (though it’s really good without the broccoli too). To recreate this meal I cook penne pasta, chop chicken, add Ragu Alfredo sauce, and mix in broccoli…BOOM! A perfect meal for everyone!
Snacks…YES, you can eat snacks! Nutrisystem has salty snacks, sweet snacks, and CHOCOLATE snacks. I am not a huge chocolate fan, but I sure do love the coconut almond bar. It tastes like an Almond Joy! Hits the spot when you are craving something sweet.

Week #6: 179.4 lbs (2/22/16) — What’s going on with my body? Am I getting too comfortable with Nutrisystem? I am back to where I was after the Turbo Takeoff. Well, I am going to stay positive. Life happens, and my weight has always been a roller coaster of up and down. So gaining a little weight isn’t going to stop me from reaching my goal of 135 lbs!
I need to get back to tracking. I have the NuMi app on my phone, so it’s super convenient. However, I haven’t been diligent about tracking. That is definitely something I can improve upon. Remember, every bite counts! If it touches your taste buds, then you better track it!
I know this week I really didn’t move around much. It was our Fall Break, and I spent the majority of it sitting in my bedroom working on taxes and being sick. Being sick really puts a damper on my ability to lose weight. I tend to mope around and do NOTHING. Well, I am back to work today and I can already tell a difference. I am moving, walking, and NOT sitting on my butt.
Nutrisystem sent me a much needed weekly inspiration: Try to be positive. If someone asks how you are, think about it and say, “I’m good. Really good.” There might be something going on in your life that’s not really good, but if you start by saying you are good, chances are you’re going to feel better.
