World of Reading
Reader-in-Training: Pre-K — Kindergarten
Walking dogs can be RUFF! Minnie, Daisy, and Cuckoo-Loca are having a tail-waggin’ good time with their pups at the park. That is until the pups see-and smell-the hot dog cart. And so begins a wild dog chase! Minnie will have to think fast to get this dog walk under control in this Level Pre-1 reader!
Kira absolutely loves to read! This morning she woke up and saw a stack of new Disney books. Immediately she asked if she could read one. YES! Of course! I totally encourage my children to read as often as they like. Kira (age 5) is an excellent reader. She struggles with some of the words in the Pre-1 level books, but they are easy enough to read with a little help from Mom and Dad.
Minnie: A Walk In The Park is written for Pre-K through Kindergarten students (World of Reading: Pre-K–Kindergarten). It’s filled with easy vocabulary, word repetition, and short, simple sentences. Once we gave Kira the correct word, she was able to repeat it on the other pages.
Kira loved this book because of all the dogs. She is on a major dog kick right now. I love that she wanted to read to me. Disney Press writes such wonderful books for kids. They know how to grab kids attention with topics they love. Many of their books are mirrored after episodes that my kids have seen (which is very helpful when a new reader is trying to read a story). I can’t wait to see which book Kira reads to me next!
