Where did the time go? I can’t believe we just signed Logan up for Kindergarten. He will start school on August 22, 2012! We struggled with the decision, as many parent’s do… when do you start your child? Logan was born September 22, 2007. The cut off date for California is November 1.
We were hoping for him to start the newly implemented Transitional Kindergarten, but since he is technically old enough he doesn’t qualify for that program. So we will have to wait and see at the end of Kindergarten if he should repeat or move on to first grade. He will be one of the youngest in his class…and probably one of the smallest (he is related to me…and I am all of 5’1″). We know that with boys it is better to hold them back; however the other choice was less inviting ~ paying for him to attend preschool for an extra year and only receiving two half days of instruction. Our hope is that with 5 days of school, Logan will grow and learn both emotionally, socially and academically.
