Who’s ready to cook? My husband was so excited when the box arrived. He has been in dire need of a new non-stick pan. The last time he made eggs, they stuck to the bottom of the pan. It’s horrible when you lose 1/2 of your food to the pan!
I’ve never had such nice pans before! I’ve searched everywhere for a non-stick pan that is actually non-stick. The Green Earth Frying Pan is made of textured ceramic non-stick coating from Germany…and truly works! Green Earth Pan is unlike other ceramic pans. Ozeri utilizes GREBLON – an ultra-safe ceramic coating from Germany which is 100% PTFE and PFOA free. (PTFE stands for PolyTetraFluoroEthylene which is known to release toxic chemicals at high temperatures. PFOA stans for PerFluorooctanoic Acid which is known as a pollutant to the environment.)
You should treat your pans prior to cooking. First remove all of the tags, labels, and packaging. Make sure to wash your new pans with a soft cloth or sponge (nothing abrasive). When it’s time to cook, you will want to season your pans with a tiny amount of oil. Approximately 1/2 teaspoon of oil will suffice. This is a step many people over look…and in the end may result in ruining your pans.
Like other non-stick pans, you will want to avoid using sharp utensils that might scratch the inside of the pan. We cook with wooden spoons.
The other night we decided to have breakfast burritos for dinner. I couldn’t wait to test out the pan. I grab the 10″ pan and started with my potatoes. I warmed up less than a tablespoon of vegetable oil, then tossed in my diced potatoes.
I couldn’t believe how easily the potatoes slide across the pan. In my old pan I would be scraping the bottom of the pan after a few minutes of cooking. With the Green Earth Pan, I could stir at any time and they would glide across the pan without sticking.
Once the potatoes browned, I added the chopped up hamburger meat (leftovers from the night before…I’ll have to share that recipe sometime — Blue Cheese Hamburgers).
Again, the food slide easily in the pan. Nothing stuck to the bottom or sides. As soon as the meat warmed up, I added the final ingredient…the egg whites.
This to me was the true test…would the eggs stick?
NOPE! They too slide across the pan! AMAZING!!!!
Ozeri recommends allowing the pans to cool before cleaning. A drastic temperature change could affect the ceramic coating of the pan (something I never thought about before).
These pans would be the perfect gift for anyone in your family who loves to cook! I know my dad would enjoy a set!
