Reyna’s Blood Book 1
By Jaliza A. Burwell
Reyna…warrior or human? Reyna was born into a world where warriors are big strong beings who keep the order among the supernatural. In her village if you are a warrior you may stay, but if you are a human you must go.
Reyna is supposed to be a warrior, but she isn’t. She is different. The real warriors don’t like her and call her a mutt. Ever since she was little, Reyna could predict events that have yet to happen and was able to read emotions when she shouldn’t have been able to. When she turned 18, and learned that she was NOT a warrior, she left the village immediately…though her brother Nolan wished she would stay…so does her best-friend Kimberly (Kirby).
Life is not as she expected, being alone. She has needed the warriors protection before, and they despise her for it (everyone except her brother, Kimberly, Seth, and a few others). She only seems to come around when she is in trouble. Reyna has tried to become her own person. She lives on her own, has a job, but something very WRONG is about to happen. She’s forced to go back to her childhood home, under the protection of the warriors.
Reyna is about to find out who she really is!
I liked the book, but it wasn’t my favorite. The story started off slow. I didn’t really get what was happening until a few chapters into the book. In the middle of the book, it got a little confusing. There were times where Nolan and Seth’s names were used instead of Wyatt and Garrett. I didn’t know if Reyna was imagining those parts or if it was a mistake on the author. After reading it over a second time, I believe it was the error of the author.
Overall, it was a decent book. I’d probably read the next book to see what happens to Reyna, but I am not going to go out of my way to find out when it is release.
