Hasbro Game Night!
|Our Party Goers: Chas, Kira, Christy, Gibson, Theresa, Logan, Leslie, Brady & Nathan|
Let the GAMES begin…
First up was Twister!
Add a twist of fun into any party or family night with the game that ties you up in knots! This TWISTER game is the classic game with 2 more moves. Give the spinner a whirl and see what’s next as you try to keep your hands and feet on the mat! Right foot red! Can you do it? Left foot green… you got it! If your knee or elbow touches the mat, or you fall over, you’re out. Be the last player standing to win!
TWISTER game challenges you to put your hands and feet at different places on the mat without falling over! Be the last player standing to win. Two new moves! With Spinner’s Choice, the spinner makes up a move for the other player to do. Fun Spinner’s Choice ideas on the back of the spinner! If the spinner lands on Air, the player must put a hand or foot in the air!
Includes 1 TWISTER mat, 1 spinner and instructions.
For 2 or more players.
Ages 6 and up.
This was the game that the kids could play easily. I gave the color wheel a spin and the adults helped by telling the kids where to position their bodies. Theresa even jumped in to play with the kids. The kids ages ranged from 3-5, so their attention span was short lived. Twister is a great game… not only a game for coordination, but helping kids learn left from right and their colors.
Next up was a new game for us all… Catch Phrase.
Say it fast, play it fast… it’s a blast! How quickly can you get your teammates to say “backseat driver”? “Pay through the nose”? “Strong, silent type”? You can do or say just about anything to get them to guess the phrase. But you gotta do it fast, then pass the game fast, so you won’t get caught holding it when the buzzer goes off! Once you pick it up, it’s tough to put it down!
Grab it, guess it, pass it— gather up your friends and have a lightning-fast blast! Features over a thousand updated and fresh phrases, an electronic timer and a built-in scorekeeper! Includes Catch Phrase game unit and rules.
For 4 or more players.
Ages 12 and up.
We played boys versus girls (3 against 3). When you heard the timer start to count down you had to be cool and not become flustered. The girls thought we had it in the bag, but for some reason we kept getting the strangest combination of words… and the boys won. DARN! It was still fun, and I can’t wait to play it again (now that we know how to play).
We played Draw Something next (another new game for us all, though Theresa and I both play Draw Something on our phones… so we had a leg up in the competition).
The top mobile drawing game has been brought to life! Now you can play Draw Something, the laugh-out-loud mobile game by ZYNGA, at home with your friends and family. It’s the same fast-paced, unpredictable drawing experience that you love, expanded so you can play together with 2 to 4 players. It’s fast, it’s fun and the first player to earn 15 coins wins!
No drawing experience required!
Includes: 4 Draw Stations, 180 Cards, 4 Crayons, 4 Pads of Paper, 4 Coin Tracker Clips, Game Guide
Ages 8 and up
For 2 – 4 Players.

Since we had 6 players we decided to team up as couples ~ Theresa & Gibson, Leslie & Nathan vs. Christy & Chas. Stick figures, shouting out guesses, oh my… it was FUN! The first couple who earned 15 coins wins… and guess what! Chas & I won! BOOM! I gave the game to Theresa to take home, under the provision that she would invite us over for a rematch.
Our last game is one we were all familiar with… Yahtzee!!!!
A family favorite for over 40 years! Throw the dice to build straights, full houses, five of a kind-YAHTZEE! Includes 5 dice, plastic dice cup, score cards, 10 plastic bonus chips, Instructions (English & Spanish).
For 1 or more players.
Get ready to roll the dice… the trick is to make the correct decision on how you are going to use your dice. I have learned through the many years of Yahtzee that you NEED to get the bonus points on the upper half of your game sheet, or get a bunch of Yahtzee‘s if you want to win. Focus on getting 3 or more of the 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6’s to get your bonus. Chas was our winner… he got Yahtzee and his bonus! We were amazed that there were 2 other Yahtzee‘s during our first game! Both Leslie and Gibson got Yahtzee‘s as well!
Our Game Night Champs…
Chas (my handsome husband) was our Game Night Champ. He was on the winning team for ALL of the games. Leslie was our runner up.
It was a wonderful way to ring in the New Year! Our New Year’s Resolution is to host a game night one a month… and host a BIG Hasbro Game Night next New Year’s Eve to see who our NEW Champs will be for 2013!
