From the mind of George Lucas…
Strange Magic is a madcap fairy tale musical inspired by
“A Midsummer Night’s Dream.”
Last week I had the opportunity to screen STRANGE MAGIC at Skywalker Ranch with George Lucas, Gary Rydstrom, and Elijah Kelley! I laughed, I cried, I sang, I danced in my seat, I fell in love with this movie! I’ll be taking my family this weekend to see this adorable film… I hope you will too!
Get ready to fall in love with Strange Magic!
The idea of STRANGE MAGIC actually began about 15 years ago. It all started with an idea… George Lucas’ love for musicals inspired him to to work on a film that was upbeat and fun. He stated that “I thought it would be fun to make a film that was more for tween girls than Star Wars, which is for tween boys, even though in the end everybody loved it and girls love it… it all worked out.” So after George Lucas finished STAR WARS, he was able to focus on this musical tale of love using popular songs from the past six decades! And like STAR WARS, this movie may have been made for tween girls, but it is a movie that everyone will love!
This is a tale of true love, not just infatuation. You never know where you might find your true love! It can be in the strangest of places… but remember everyone deserves to be loved. Let’s face the fact, life and love are messy! Tuning into the relationships many of us face in our own lives, George Lucas brings those relationships to the big screen… infatuation, sisterhood/family bonds (the good and the bad), heartbreak, miscommunication, and so much more.
The Fairy Kingdom and Dark Forest have a line that never gets crossed! But one day, someone crosses the line and sets off a chain reaction of events between the two sides. STRANGE MAGIC is filled with a colorful cast of goblins, elves, fairies and imps, and their hilarious misadventures sparked by the battle over a powerful potion.
STRANGE MAGIC stars Evan Rachel Wood (Marianne), Kristin Chenoweth (Sugar Plum Fairy), Alan Cumming (Bog King), Maya Rudolph (Griselda), Sam Palladio (Roland), Alfred Molina (Fairy King), Meredith Ann Bull (Dawn), and Elijah Kelley (Sunny).
STRANGE MAGIC is a timeless story that you can enjoy with the entire family! Oh…make sure you stay for the entire movie (you don’t want to miss the end)!!!
Strange Magic is NOW in theaters everywhere!
