I was invited by Disney to attend an all expenses paid trip to cover the #BeOurGuestEvent & other fun adventures in LA on 3/4-3/7. All opinions are my own.
I’m so excited to be 1 of 25 Bloggers who have been invited to Los Angeles from Saturday, March 4th – Tuesday, March 7th to screen BEAUTY AND THE BEAST (opening in theaters on 3/17).
Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” is a live-action re-telling of the studio’s animated classic which refashions the classic characters from the tale as old as time for a contemporary audience, staying true to the original music while updating the score with several new songs. “Beauty and the Beast” is the fantastic journey of Belle, a bright, beautiful and independent young woman who is taken prisoner by a beast in his castle. Despite her fears, she befriends the castle’s enchanted staff and learns to look beyond the Beast’s hideous exterior and realize the kind heart and soul of the true Prince within. The film stars: Emma Watson as Belle; Dan Stevens as the Beast; Luke Evans as Gaston, the handsome, but shallow villager who woos Belle; Oscar® winner Kevin Kline as Maurice, Belle’s eccentric, but lovable father; Josh Gad as Lefou, Gaston’s long-suffering aide-de-camp; Golden Globe® nominee Ewan McGregor as Lumiere, the candelabra; Oscar nominee Stanley Tucci as Maestro Cadenza, the harpsichord; Oscar nominee Ian McKellen as Cogsworth, the mantel clock; and two-time Academy Award® winner Emma Thompson as the teapot, Mrs. Potts.
Directed by Oscar® winner Bill Condon based on the 1991 animated film, “Beauty and the Beast” is produced by Mandeville Films’ David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman with eight-time Oscar-winning composer Alan Menken, who won two Academy Awards® (Best Original Score and Best Song) for the 1991 animated film, providing the score, which will include new recordings of the original songs written by Menken and Howard Ashman, as well as several new songs written by Menken and three-time Oscar winner Tim Rice. “Beauty and the Beast” will be released in U.S. theaters on March 17, 2017.
One of the best parts of a Disney Press Trip are the interviews! We will be interviewing several of the cast members from Beauty and the Beast including:
- Emma Watson (“Belle”)
- Dan Stevens (“The Beast/Prince Adam”)
- Luke Evans (“Gaston”)
- Josh Gad (“Le Fou”)
- Audra McDonald (“Garderobe”)
- Gugu Mbatha-Raw (“Plumette”)
- Director Bill Condon
- Alan Menken (Music by)
Beauty and the Beast isn’t the only thing on our agenda… we have many adventures in store for us…including a trip to William Sonoma for a Beauty and the Beast themed blogger event.
We will also screen the new Disneynature film BORN IN CHINA (opening in theatres on 4/21).
Disneynature’s “Born in China” ventures into the wilds of China, capturing intimate moments with three animal families: a doting panda bear mother who’s guiding her growing baby as she begins to explore, a two-year-old golden snub-nosed monkey who feels displaced by his baby sister, and a mother snow leopard who faces the very real drama of raising her two cubs.
I can’t wait to attend a special In-Home MOANA (available on Digital HD on 2/21 and Blu-ray on 3/7) presentation! My daughter and I are obsessed with all of the songs…yes we sing them often in the car!
Three thousand years ago, the greatest sailors in the world voyaged across the vast Pacific, discovering the many islands of Oceania. But then, for a millennium, their voyages stopped – and no one knows exactly why. From Walt Disney Animation Studios comes “Moana,” a sweeping, CG-animated feature film about an adventurous teenager who sails out on a daring mission to save her people. During her journey, Moana (voice of Auli‘i Cravalho) meets the mighty demigod Maui (voice of Dwayne Johnson), who guides her in her quest to become a master wayfinder. Together, they sail across the open ocean on an action-packed voyage, encountering enormous monsters and impossible odds, and along the way, Moana fulfills the ancient quest of her ancestors and discovers the one thing she’s always sought: her own identity. Directed by the renowned filmmaking team of Ron Clements and John Musker (“The Little Mermaid,” “Aladdin,” “The Princess & the Frog”), produced by Osnat Shurer (“Lifted,” “One Man Band”), and featuring music by Lin-Manuel Miranda, Mark Mancina and Opetaia Foa‘i.
Oh…the fun doesn’t stop there…have you been watching the “The Catch”??? I just started watching it and I am HOOKED! “The Catch” will return for Season 2 on Thursday, March 9th at 10/9c as part of ABC’s exciting #TGIT line-up, and I am getting a sneak peek!
“The Catch” is a sexy, scintillating game of cat and mouse between L.A.’s top private investigator, Alice Vaughan (Mireille Enos), and the man she loves, Benjamin Jones (Peter Krause), the world’s most formidable con artist. At the beginning of season two, con man Benjamin Jones has gone from committing the ultimate betrayal to performing the ultimate sacrifice, when he turned himself in to the FBI to save Alice from wrongful imprisonment. Now in jail, Ben is forced to reckon with his criminal past, while the team at Anderson Vaughan Investigations must come to terms with getting in bed with the bad guys. How will Alice and Ben game the system — and each other — to stay together and overcome their less-than-legal pasts?
Do you love a good comedy? Have you been watching “Baby Daddy”? HYSTERICAL!!!! I’ll be attending a “baby shower” luncheon and Q&A with the cast of Freeform’s “Baby Daddy” (season 6 premieres Monday, March 13th at 8:30/7:30c)! Interviews with Chelsea Kane (“Riley Perrin”), Derek Theler (“Danny Wheeler”), and Tahj Mowry (“Tucker Dobbs”).
The baby shower will celebrate the pregnancy of Danny and Riley, who found out in the season five finale that they were expecting. The season six premiere will pick up three months after the finale, and Ben is still enthusiastically searching for the mysterious Elle. Danny and Riley are hunting for a good doctor to help with the pregnancy, and Bonnie desperately wants to be involved. Tucker is back from Los Angeles, but he refuses to tell anyone what happened while he was there.
My kids are going to be jealous that I’ll get a sneak peak at the Disney Channel Original Movie “Tangled Before Ever After” (premieres Friday, March 10th at 8/7c) followed by an intimate Q&A with Executive Producer Chris Sonnenburg and Supervising Producer Ben Balistreri. The TV movie, which kicks off the highly-anticipated premiere of “Tangled: The Series” (debuting Friday, March 24th at 7:30/6:30c), unfolds as Rapunzel acquaints herself with her parents, her kingdom and the people of Corona. Her irrepressible spirit and natural curiosity about the world lead her to realize that there is so much more she needs to learn about the world and herself before she can assume her role as Princess of Corona.
We will have a chance to screen an episode of Disney XD’s “Milo Murphy’s Law” (new episodes debut beginning Monday, March 6th), followed by a Q&A with creators and Executive Producers Dan Povenmire and Jeff “Swampy” Marsh (of the Emmy Award-winning animated series “Phineas and Ferb”). “Milo Murphy’s Law” is an animated comedy series that follows 13-year-old Milo Murphy, the fictional great-great-great-great grandson of the Murphy’s Law namesake. Milo is the personification of Murphy’s Law, where anything that can go wrong, will go wrong.
We will get an advance preview of Disney Channel’s upcoming series “Andi Mack” (premieres early spring 2017) followed by a Q&A session with Payton Elizabeth Lee (“Andi Mack”), Lilian Bowden (“Bex”), Lauren Tom (“Cecilia”), Creator/Executive Producer Terri Minsky and Executive Producer Michelle Manning.
“Andi Mack” is a contemporary, coming-of-age story about a relatable girl who’s trying to determine where she fits in — and the many amazing ways she can live her life. Andi has been raised to live on the safe side but on her 13th birthday, she takes off the proverbial training wheels and eagerly goes headlong into her teenage years. At every twist and turn, she’s anchored by a loving albeit complicated family and her loyal best friends, Cyrus and Buffy.
I really excited to get an exclusive sneak preview of the Series Premiere and second episode of “Imaginary Mary” (sampled on Wednesday, March 29th at 8:30/7:30c followed by its time slot premiere on Tuesday, April 4th at 9:30/8:39c), the newest ABC comedy about a fiercely independent career woman (Jenna Elfman) whose life is turned upside-down when she meets the love of her life – a divorced father with three kids. This triggers even more upheaval when the slightly unhinged imaginary friend (voiced by Rachel Dratch) she created as a child suddenly reappears to help her navigate the transition from single girl to a woman ready for a family. This special screening will be followed by a Q&A with Jenna Elman, her co-star Stephen Schneider, and Executive Producers David Guarascio and Patrick Osborne.
