Are you looking for a new SUV but not wanting to drive a big, bulky car? Well Mitsubishi has the perfect car for you! Last month I had the opportunity to test drive the 2016 Outlander Sport 2.4 GT 2WD. It’s a smaller SUV, but has all the same great perks of a regular sized SUV.
Okay…before I begin…I have to say I absolutely LOVE the Octane Blue exterior color of the Outlander Sport! It’s bright and sporty.
Are you ready for a road trip? Before summer ended, we wanted to get in one last family trip. We decided to take a day trip over the mountains, all the way to the coast. The Outlander Sport fits my family of 4 comfortably.
This car was amazing to drive…I even let my husband drive the car home (though the car was so nice to drive I would have been fine driving the entire way)! First of all I have to tell you that the gas mileage was OUTSTANDING! We were able to drive from Oakhurst to Monterey and back on one tank of gas! YES! We drove 348 miles without having to worry about stopping for gas (average gas mileage for the Outlander Sport is 25 MPG). That’s probably my favorite feature about this car. I hate taking trips and having to stop in an unknown location to get gas.
As a mom, I love this car. It was easy to situate the car seats and had tons of room in the back for gear or groceries. The kids loved how easy it was to buckle their seat belts (they had a hard time in the Mirage). The back seat has a third seat belt, so we could take on another passenger (but my kids prefer to pull down the center console to hold their iPhones or waters.
The black leather seats did get a little hot, so if you can you will want to park in the shade. Once the vehicle was going and the AC was on, the seats did cool down.
Here are some of the features that really make this car amazing…
- Panoramic glass roof with adjustable LED mood lighting
- Heated side-view mirrors
- Rear window intermittent wiper/washer with defroster
- Rain-sensing windshield wipers
- 60/40 split fold-down rear seatback
- Heated driver and passenger seats
- Touch panel audio system (this one does NOT have a navigation system, but that didn’t bother me since I typically use my phone)
- Review camera system
And so much more!
The Outlander Sport starts at $25,995…
