Thanks to MomSelect & Disney Parks for allowing me to host a Disney Side @Home Celebration!
As a Thank You to my guests, I made each child and mom a Scrabble Tile necklace. I love Mod Podge crafts! You can actually find a small bottle of Mod Podge at your local Dollar Tree (or Amazon has Mod Podge in larger sizes).
What you need:
- Scrabble Tiles (hit your local thrift stores and yard sales for loose Scrabble Tiles or old games missing pieces)
- Mod Podge
- paint brush
- HP Photo Paper
- 1 cm screw eyes (you can find these at your local hardware store)
- drill with 1/16″ drill bit
- ribbon or chains (I used an old chain I had to hang my pendant on)
My friend, Theresa and I pulled out the first initial Scrabble Tile for each of the party guests. I asked my husband to drill tiny holes into the top of each tile piece. Then he screwed in the 1 cm screw eyes.
Step 2: Next I asked everyone who their favorite Disney Princess was and searched the web for printable images. Using Paint Shop Pro, I shrunk the images to the appropriate size and printed them onto HP Photo Paper.
Step 3: Next I cut the photo out to fit the Scrabble Tile.
Step 4: Using a small amount of Mod Podge I covered the back of the Scrabble Tile (the blank side) with a thin layer.
Step 5: I placed the picture onto the Scrabble Tile. Make sure you press it all the way down and release any bubbles that are underneath.
Step 6: Cover the entire tile and photo with Mod Podge. Repeat the steps for the remaining tiles/photos.
Step 7: Allow the tiles to dry. You can paint on a second coat if needed.
Step 8: Last, but not least, you need to find the perfect chain or ribbon to hand your new pendant on. I used a chain I had in my jewelry box and I used a ribbon on Kira’s “Frozen” pendant.
I hope you like this quick tutorial. Feel free to share with your friends via Pinterest, Twitter, and Facebook!
Disclosure: I received the HP photo paper in my DisneySide package from MomSelect.
