Thanks to MomSelect & Disney Parks for allowing me to host a Disney Side @Home Celebration!
In honor of this fun day, I decided to try something new. I’ve used chocolate melts in the past to coat pretzel sticks and dip cake balls…but I wanted something special to top my cupcakes. I decided to make Mickey Mouse Chocolate Toppers!
They are very easy to make. You just need wax paper, microwave save bowl, metal spoon, Wilton Chocolate Melts, and a plastic bag (scissors). I took approximately 1/2 cup of Wilton Milk Chocolate Melts and placed them in a microwave safe bowl. Heat the melts for 30 seconds, stir, then heat again for 30 seconds (no more than 1 minute 30 seconds or it will become too thick). Stir until smooth, then place into plastic bag. Cut the tip off the edge of the bag (only a tiny cut).
I started by making a large circle for the head, then added two smaller circles for the ears.
Once the chocolate cools, the Mickey’s will be hard and should slide right off the wax paper.
I hope you like this quick tutorial. Feel free to share with your friends via Pinterest, Twitter, and Facebook!
