Raise your glass and let’s celebrate 130 Days of Cab!
This year marks 130 years of crafting quality, affordable California wines for Concannon Vineyard. Thanks to BzzAgent.com, I was able to join in the fun in celebrating this event. I received a high valued coupon in order to pick up one of the delicious varieties of Concannon Wines to review. What arrived in my BzzAgent Box:
- $5 coupon –> I used the coupon to pick up a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc
- a few $1 off coupons –>I shared with family and friends
- Concannon Vineyard magnet –> Which is mounted on my refrigerator waiting for a fun photo of my husband & myself!
Concannon Vineyard’s Conservancy tier consists of five wines: Cabernet Sauvignon, Crimson & Clover™ Red Wine, Chardonnay, Merlot and Petite Sirah. These wines help protect precious California vineyard land from urban development, as all Conservancy winegrowers have placed their land into a legal trust that protects against development forever. The Conservancy wines preserve the land for future generations to enjoy.
Concannon Vineyard’s Selected Vineyards tier features well-loved and well-priced wine varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir, crafted from select vineyards across California and represent remarkable value. The grapes come from both cool regions that contribute distinctive fresh fruit nuances and warm regions that add depth of flavor and an admirable complexity to the wines. These award-winning wines take no shortcuts and are easily worth twice their modest price.
The 2012 Sauvignon Blanc, Selected Vineyards is a crisp and refreshing wine that goes with just about everything. This wine is very smooth and easy to drink. My husband and I like to enjoy a glass of wine once the kids go to bed…and if we are feeling in the mood, we will always pair it with a good meal. When I think of pairing a Sauvignon Blanc with my meal, I immediately think of pairing it with chicken, pork or shrimp…. which a simple garlic and herb marinade (nothing too strong).
We really enjoyed the wine…but what do you do with there is only 4-6 oz left? Make a dessert of course! Yes, we were getting down to the bottom of the bottle, so I got creative. I love wine smoothies… so I made a strawberry, orange juice & Sauvigion Blanc wine smoothie. It was super easy. I added 1 cup of frozen strawberries, 4-6 oz of orange juice, and 4-6 oz of Sauvigion Blanc to the blender. Blend until the strawberries are no longer big chunks. Pour into your glass and enjoy!
So what am I going to bring to my next party?
Concannon Wine of course!
